Hawthorne School Outreach

It's time to start gathering for our annual outreach to Hawthorne School. The following list of needed supplies was provided to us by the school.

If you would like to help with our school outreach, please leave your gifts in the foyer by August 10th. The items will then be delivered to the school. If you have any questions, please contact Eric Peterson at 523-7034.

Shoes and Clothes for Mexico

Those going on the Mission Trip to Mexico will be taking shoes and clothes for children through teens to those in need. Take this opportunity to clean out your kid's closets or go shopping (maybe at a yard sale) for good used or new clothing that could be donated to them. There will be a box in the foyer for your donations.

Opportunities to Serve

City of Refuge needs your help. Opportunities are available to work in the Thrift store or to prepare a meal. Any amount of time you have can be a benefit to them. Please call Amy at 552-5575

Short Term Mission Opportunity

From November 1 - 10, 2008, we are seeking nurses, physical therapists, doctors, or other health care practitioners to take part in a short term missions trip to Gabon, West Africa. You would work with C&MA missionaries Tim and Meredith Brokopp, providing medical care and vaccinations in several villages in and around Libreville. Participants will have access to the medical clinic of the Gabonese C&MA health care ministry. During the time in Gabon, members of the short-term team also will conduct evangelism campaigns in the villages, featuring the Jesus film. The cost of the trip is $590 plus airfare. Operation Christmas Child 2008

In 2008, let's try a monthly collection in the foyer for Operation Christmas Child. There will be a box in the foyer with a label attached stating the item for that month. The donation box will always be available. Here's the breakdown for the year:

January - combs/brushes/hair accessories
February - toothbrush/toothpaste
 March - soft toys
April - candy / gum
May - socks / t-shirts / flip flops, water shoes
June - you pick
July - school supplies
August - flashlights / batteries
September - musical / percussion instruments
October - other toys
November - $7.00 donation for shipping and handling
